What the spacing means
Here, spacing is the edge length of each equilateral triangle. A 10 mm edge gives horizontal rows approximately 8.66 mm apart: triangle height = edge length × √3 ÷ 2. The three line families meet at 60 degrees.
Follow the horizontal and diagonal lines to sketch a cube, a stepped object or a repeating pattern. Rotate the printed page if you prefer a vertical line family. The grid supports an isometric sketch; it does not add perspective convergence.
For large drawings, choose landscape orientation. Increase the triangle edge length for a less dense guide. The calibration bar still measures 50 mm horizontally and provides a quick check on printer scaling.
Before you print.
Match your paper size. Set scaling to 100% or actual size. Measure the 50 mm bar on your first sheet.
Is the download free?
Yes. PDF and SVG downloads are free and require no account.
Why does my printed grid look smaller?
Your print dialog may be scaling the PDF to fit. Choose actual size and check the calibration bar. Increase the generator margin if the printer clips an edge.
Isometric spacing or row height?
The spacing control is the triangle edge length. Row height is approximately 0.866 times that value.
