Four squares per inch
A quarter inch is exactly 6.35 mm. At actual size, four small squares span one inch. The optional emphasized lines appear every five squares, so the larger square is 1.25 inches, not one inch.
For a rough room plan, you can choose a drawing scale such as one square per foot. At that scale a 12-foot wall occupies 12 squares. Write the scale on the sheet and verify dimensions separately before ordering materials.
US Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches. The default half-inch margins keep the grid away from most printer edges. Your printer may have different printable limits; use its preview and check the calibration bar after printing.
Before you print.
Match your paper size. Set scaling to 100% or actual size. Measure the 50 mm bar on your first sheet.
Is the download free?
Yes. PDF and SVG downloads are free and require no account.
Why does my printed grid look smaller?
Your print dialog may be scaling the PDF to fit. Choose actual size and check the calibration bar. Increase the generator margin if the printer clips an edge.
Isometric spacing or row height?
The spacing control is the triangle edge length. Row height is approximately 0.866 times that value.
